Bronze Medallion & Emergency First Aid (13 yrs+)

The Lifesaving Society’s Bronze Medallion challenges candidates both mentally and physically. Judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness form the foundation of Bronze Medallion training. Candidates develop assessment and problem-solving skills needed to make sound decisions in, on, and around the water.

It is highly recommended that candidates entering this course have successfully completed Lifesaving Society Swimmer 6 or an equivalent level to ensure readiness for stroke evaluation and overall course success.

Course Requirements:

Participants must attend 100% of all scheduled classes and should arrive prepared to complete:
• An endurance swim – 400 metres timed, completed in under 12 minutes, or under 11 minutes if the pool is measured in yards (to be achieved by end of course).
• A stroke assessment – All strokes and lifesaving-kicks must meet Lifesaving Society standards.

Bronze Medallion is a prerequisite for assistant lifeguard training in Bronze Cross.
